Greetings Grant Football Family,

My name is Bryan Butcher Jr, and I am thrilled at the opportunity to be your new Team
President. As the President of our youth football program, it’s my pleasure to support an
established community of athletes, coaches, and families. The way we work together is
essential in providing a life changing experience for the kids.

In 5th grade, my closest friends were made on the football field. There was nothing like wearing
our jerseys on Friday, suiting up on Saturday, and playing for each other. The ultimate team
game helped us create bonds that are lasting a lifetime. But that was only possible because we
were blessed to have adults who created a space for that to happen. We were free to play
football, and that was awesome.

I’m currently a math teacher at Beaumont Middle School. I am also an alum of Grant High
School, where I played football and baseball for three years. So believe me folks, I bleed the
Blue and Grey! I’m also a Portland native, and I know the impact youth sports played in my life.
I’m just hoping to help foster that for others.

As we get ready to start this year, please think about how you can help create a community
where everyone enjoys the season. Let’s acknowledge every step of growth, learn from every
mistake, and enjoy the process as our 2024 season unfolds.
